European / CE Conformity

CE-Marking

The CE marking enables the free exchange of goods and services within the EU internal market on the basis of standardised requirements. By affixing the CE marking, the manufacturer confirms that his product fulfils the basic performance and safety requirements of the relevant European directives and regulations. For many products, CE labelling is a legal requirement in order to be placed on the market in the European Union.
Scope of application

DVGW CERT GmbH is an EU-notified Body (identifier ‘0085’) for:

 

  • Gas Appliances Regulation GAR (2016/426/EU)
  • Boiler Efficiency Directive BED (92/42/EG)
  • Pressure Equipment Directive PED (2014/68/EU)
  • Construction Products Regulation CPR (EU 305/2011)

The conformity assessment of a product can be carried out in different ways. However, the goal is always to prove that the fundamental requirements of a regulation or directive are fulfilled and this is achieved by applying harmonized standards, DIN-standards or other technical standards and codes of practice.

The conformity of a product is verified by an EC-type examination certificate which authorizes the manufacturer to affix the CE mark of conformity to the product.
