DVGW certification of water industry products

For a DVGW type-examination certificate to be issued, proof of compliance with the legal framework regarding hygienic requirements for materials and substances in contact with drinking water is required. 

You can find out how to provide this evidence in the “Appendix for Certification Programmes (ZP) on Hygienic Requirements for DVGW Type Certification of Products in Contact with Drinking Water” (zp_anlage_50799.pdf).

If you currently do not have the required evidence, it is no longer possible to submit applications for issuance of national certificates accordance to the German Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV).

Alternatively, you may submit applications (70300_EU-03-E-DE_01.docx) for the issuance of a European Compliance Certificate according to the European Drinking Water Directive (EU DWD). Any required tests can be carried out already.

Upon submission of the relevant documents

• for components with a conversion factor Fc of 0.4 d/dm or higher: initial inspection report + inspector’s sampling record + sample test reports in accordance with the applicable EU legislation,
• for components with a conversion factor Fc < 0.4 d/dm: test reports based on the applicable EU legislation,

we will assess these and, if the outcome is positive, accept them as evidence of compliance with hygienic requirements on a temporary basis until the European certificates of conformity based on the EU DWD are available.
